The Overpowering Beauty of the Art of Hadieh Shafie

Hadieh Shafie (1969) is a Iranian-born artist who has lived and studied art in the USA since 1993. Many of her most prominent and recognisable works are comprised of tightly knit coiled strips of colourful paper that is arranged to spell out calligraphy patterns.

Her many works are at display at The  British Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, Victoria and Albert Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), Sheldon Museum of Art, and the United States State Department.
