The Greater New York exhibition was first conceived in 2000, and reoccurring every five years the show provides a place to display works by artists who “have emerged as vital, creative voices in their field over the past five years” and embody “the diversity of ideas and creative practice found in the metropolitan area”. However, this year’s display departs from its focus on youth, and looks into “points of connection and tension between our desire for the new and nostalgia for that which it displaces.”
This years exhibition will include artists like Yoshiaki Mochizuki, Jamian Juliano-Villani, Louise Lawler, Sophia Le Fraga, David Grubbs, Rebecca Patek and many more.
The GNY exhibition opened 11 October, 2015 and will be showcasing until 7 March, 2016. Learn more about the exhibit at MoMa PS1: GNY
